Turner Celebrates Army's Birthday in Forest Hills

Congressman holds reception on Metropolitan Avenue.

U.S. Rep. Bob Turner, R-Forest Hills, helped celebrate the 237th birthday of the Amy this week, holding a reception for local service members at the American Legion post on Metropolitan Avenue.

“As the first of our military branches, the Army and those who wear our nation’s uniform, continue, as they always have, to serve with the utmost honor," Turner said. "Putting together a celebration for our local soldiers here in the Ninth Congressional District is a small token of our nation’s deep appreciation. The history of accomplishments of the United States Army is truly worth celebrating.”

Turner is a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
