Tell Us: Where are the Potholes in Forest Hills?

With winter in full swing, let’s identify the streets that need repair.

Potholes can make your drive to work significantly worse - that is, several hundred dollars worse if you hit one.

These gravelly, asphalt mini graves are the scourge of any commute, spilling coffee, jarring your teeth and, in the case of your local editor, busting your axle.

Community Board 6 District Manager Frank Gulluscio said he had not recently noticed too many potholes around the Forest Hills, but that the Grand Central Parkway and Union Turnpike have, historically, been problem sites.

"I haven't gotten any calls yet this winter about potholes," he said. "But they are usually weather related."

Patch is on a quest to uncover the roadways and intersections with the worst potholes. So, sound off in the comments section and sound the alarm. Your car – and that minivan full of kids on the way to school – will thank you.

Meanwhile, here is where you can report a pothole to the Department of Transportation and here is where you can check on the status of a repair.
