Reader Comment of the Week

This week's comments come from a piece on empty storefronts on Austin Street.

The best reader comments of the week came from an Aug. 6 story, "Austin Street Shoppers Share Ideas for Vacant Storefronts."

"Let's get a Shake Shack first," reader Michael wrote. "After that is accomplished, a true sports bar would be nice. Tap House is OK, but it's tiny... Buffalo Wild Wings is great, so something to compete with it would be good. No more banks or cell phone stores, please."

Reader Quinny10 said, "A really good deli with some seating, somewhere to get great sandwiches at a low cost. The only options in the area are sit-down restaurants, subway or gross delis on Queens Blvd. A local/craft beer brewery or a beer distributor. A bar like Little Town NYC, where they only sell local/NY state food and drinks."

And reader Carrie Kaplan wrote, "Fix 108th Street. It's so sleazy. But as for Austin Street, maybe an open space with lots of grass and seats for relaxing. I agree with a deli and a hardware store too."
