The best reader comments of the week came from the story "Austin Street's Ann Taylor to Close in January."

Reader Alanna B. wrote, "I prefer the Loft, but surprised Ann Taylor is closing. It seems geared to an older clientele. Lots of places closing. Kind of sad. Hope new places come soon. Could use a good soup/salad/sandwich shop."

Another reader, Yolanda Vega, said, "I do not like that they did not keep their employees informed. I hope that they are taken care of by the company when they are laid off. I am sad to see the workers go, not the store."

And reader Rocco Del Greco wrote, "I used to have an apartment above the Ann Taylor store and the building owner at the time had sold the building, so the new owner might have wanted a higher rent for the space. It's about 10 years [old], so AT's first lease might be up for renewal/renegotiation. Unfortunately, that's what happens in commercial real estate."
