Places to Sled in Queens

Where are your favorite places to sled in the borough?

While some parents may be glad for the opportunity to sleep in or work from home due to winter storm Hercules' visit to the five boroughs, many kids will want to get out and sled today.

The city's Parks Department has provided a list on its website of several spots in Queens to go sledding:

Astoria Park- 19th Street near Shore Boulevard and Ditmars Boulevard
Bowne Park- Small hillside on the 155th Street side of the park
Crocheron Park- At 35th Avenue opposite Golden Pond
Forest Park- Mary Whelan Playground at 79th Street and Park Lane South
Juniper Valley Park- Located at Juniper Boulevard North and South near the tennis building on 75th Street
Kissena Park- On the east side of the lake. Enter at Metcalf and 164th Street
Lower Highland Park- Jamaica Avenue and Elton Street
