Koslowitz To Host Event Honoring Asian Americans

Event will feature awards, cultural presentation.

City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz will honor community members at an event in Elmhurst next week, to coincide with Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The event, which is the second of its kind thrown by Koslowitz, will focus on Asian-American residents who have made a difference in the Queens community at large in the last year.

Among those honored will be Flushing Councilman Peter Koo, who will receive a "Man of the Year" award. Koo recently changed his stripes in the city council, becoming a Democrat after being elected on the Republican Party line.
