Alan Hevesi, Rapper Ja Rule Tight Behind Bars: Report

Former Forest Hills Assemblyman and State Comptroller Alan Hevesi has made an unlikely friend behind bars, according to the New York Daily News: hip hop artist Ja Rule.

Ja Rule is in the midst of a two-year stint for gun possession and tax evasion, the paper said.

The two are reportedly thick as thieves, talking state politics and watching “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” together in the evenings.

The two bonded, the Daily News said, over a shared political affiliation — both are Democrats — and Hevesi has been more than willing to hang out and shoot the breeze about the situation in Albany.

His lawyer told the paper that bookish Hevesi tends to spend the day reading by himself, however.
