The Forest Hills Green Team will host its annual cleanup along Continental Avenue and 71st Avenue in Forest Hills on Oct. 5.
During the ninth annual event, volunteers will spruce up the tree pits near the intersection of the two roads.
"It's to get people more aware of the community and to help," said Steve Melnick, of the Queens Boulevard Restoration Project. "Those trees site year-round and nobody takes care of them. This goes a long way."
The event, which will be held in rain or shine, runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
Attendees will weed, dig, plant and mulch around the trees.
The event is open to all ages and tools and work gloves will be provided.
Those interested in participating should meet at HSBC Bank, located at 107-15 Continental Ave.
