Grab & Go Kids Planner: Busy May Edition

Take Advantage of All The Great, Outdoor Events Taking Place Around Town This Weekend.

The Reebok Junior Tennis Academy
Saturday, May 14
3 p.m - 6 p.m.
A free program of the City Parks Foundation for NYC residents ages 8-16 designed as a annual scholarship training program for players with intermediate or advanced playing ability which provides free expert coaching, practice time and tournament sponsorship.  Players who pass the first round of try-outs on Saturday will come back on Sunday for match-play situations. Strack Pond: A Haven for Herpetology

The Forest Park Urban Park Rangers invite kids of all ages to observe reptiles and amphibians at the park pond.  Kids will look for turtles, learn to recognize toad calls and learn all about how these local animals play a huge role in the overall ecosystem.  Free event. Green for Queens Earth Day Fair

The Central Queens Y is hosting a great earth friendly event for kids and educational environmental festival for people of all ages.  Kids will love the Wildlife Children’s Theater featuring snakes, lizards and worms, cooking demos, live music and eco-crafts. Farm Fest

The Queens County Farm Museum welcomes back spring with their annual farm fest. This year kids will see the annual sheep shearing event, enjoy local artisinal foods, enjoy pony rides and listen to the country western band.
