Gillibrand Taking on Bird Strikes At Airports

Would eliminate red tape that prevents the removal of geese.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrandis turning her attention to the skies over New York City — specifically the birds that fill it.

She's introducing legislation to help eliminate the red tape that prevents the National Parks Service and the Department of Agriculture from swiftly removing the geese that congregate near the city's airports.

“We cannot afford to sit back and wait for a catastrophe to occur before cutting through bureaucratic red tape between federal agencies,” said Gillibrand. “We cannot and should not wait another day to act while public safety is at risk.”
