Frugal Family: Amusement Park Edition
With summer coming, it's the right time to plan an amusement park getaway, and you can save some money with Forest Hills Patch!
As the weather heats up, families will undoubtedly be heading out to some of the great amusement and water parks in and around New York City. Day passes, parking and food all add up, so plan early to save where you can. The Frugal Family cloumn has uncovered some discounts and coupons that will help ease the price tag.
Hershey Park
Hershey has partnered with some local stores to provide great savings throughout the season. Pick up discount coupons at CVS, Burger King, Friendly’s and Dunkin Donuts and redeem online using the promotional code on your coupon or at the main entrance for a savings of $12 per ticket.
Six Flags Great Adventure & Wild Safari
You can save $23 per ticket for simply buying your tickets online and printing them at home. Additionally, if you have a Discover Card, you can save 5 percent on all tickets, meals and parking. Kids two and under are free. See the offers at Save on Six Flags
Sesame Place
If you can take the time, consider a weekday trip to Sesame Place. They are running a Super Spring promotion offering $20 of any single-day admission from May 6 - June 16. Adventureland
From May - Setpember the park offers a variety of coupons from $6-$10 on a childs single day admission ticket. If you are taking two or more kids, this can really add up. Visit Adventureland Discounts for dates and discounts.
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom
In addition to partnering with local restaurants to provide coupon codes for $15 off the regular gate price -- Subway (May and June), Dunkin Donuts (June), Burger King (July) and Wendy’s (August), you can receive $5 off any admission for simply purchasing and printing your ticket online.
