Forest Hills Library to Host Romantic Melodies Concert, Childbirth Classes

Lois Bruno will perform at the library on Feb. 8, while a three-part childbirth series will be held on three consecutive Thursdays next month.

The Forest Hills Library will host a performance of romantic melodies and a series of classes on preparing for childbirth in February.

On Feb. 8, jazz vocalist Lois Bruno will perform “Love Makes the World Go Round,” a series of tunes sung in Spanish, French, Italian and Yiddish.

Highlights will include “Besame Mucho,” “Autumn Leaves,” “Time After Time” and “My Funny Valentine.”

The performance runs from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., will also present Prepared Childbirth: Know Your Options and What to Expect on Feb. 6, 13 and 20 at 1 p.m.

During the program, childbirth educator Riki Phillips will guide expectant parents through childbirth options and touch upon topics such as preparing for labor and delivery, creating a birth plan, coping strategies and resolving problems in labor.

Seating for the program is on a first come, first serve basis.
