Summer job applications for youths are now available through the city’s departments of Parks and Youth and Community Development.
The Department of Parks and Recreation is hiring summer lifeguards to man pools and beaches in the city.
Lifeguards can earn up to $650 weekly by working as much as 48 hours.
Prospective lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age as well as pass a qualifying vision and swim test. If accepted, they must complete a training program that includes CPR and 40 hours of classes.

The Department of Youth and Community Development is hiring young people between the ages of 14 and 24 years for summer employment.
Entry-level positions are available at government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, nonprofits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises and retail organizations.
