Central Queens Y to Host Mini-Camp for Kids in Late December
Program will include movies, bowling and trips to the Museum of Natural History and Active Kidz.
The Central Queens Y will hold a mini-camp for local youngsters during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
On Dec. 23, participants will swim and attend carnival booths at the Y, located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills.
Attendees must bring a plain white T-shirt that day for tye-dyeing as well as a bathing suit and towel.

Children will have a choice of going to see one of two movies – “Walking with Dinosaurs” or “Frozen” – as well as go bowling at Whitestone Lanes on Dec. 24. Pick-up that day is at 4:30 p.m.
On Dec. 26, the camp will travel to Long Island’s Active Kidz for inflatables, an adventure maze, arcade games and laser tag.

The group will travel to the Museum of Natural History & Hayden Planetarium on Dec. 27. The day will include a screening of a space show, “Dark Universe,” as well as an Imax film – “Penguins” and special exhibits on frogs and whales.
On Dec. 30, participants will go swimming at the Y. All children should bring a towel and bathing suit.
And, on Dec. 31, the camp will travel to the New Victory Theater for “Mother Africa,” which includes acrobats, contortionists, jugglers and stilt walkers. Pick-up that day is at 4:30 p.m.
Parents should pack a lunch and beverage for their children for each day of the camp.
There will be no late stay options on Dec. 24 or Dec. 31.
The program costs $55 per day for members or after school participants and $60 for nonmembers.
There will be an extra $2 fee for early arrival or late pick-up on any given day. Early arrival runs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., while late stay is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
