Central Queens Y to Hold Affordable Care Act Forum, Chanukah Festival

Forest Hills Y will also host a discussion with Ms. Magazine co-founder Letty Pogrebin.

The Central Queens Y will host an upcoming discussion on the Affordable Care Act, a Chanukah festival and a talk with the co-founder of Ms. Magazine.

On Nov. 19, the Y will hold a forum on changes under the Affordable Care Act at 10 a.m.

Eric Hausman, a Medicare education consultant from the Department for the Aging, will present an overview of the changes in Medicare and answer questions.

The Y will celebrate Chanukah with a festival of lights from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 24.

The event will include a juggling show with Michael Karas, inflatables and games, Chanukah crafts, a children’s book fair, face painting, bakers and shakers and snacks.

Every child who attends receives a holiday surprise.

And, on Dec. 2, the Y will host a talk with Letty Pogrebin, a veteran feminist and co-founder of Ms. Magazine, at 1:30 p.m.

Pogrebin will discuss her own experience with breast cancer as well as give insights and practical advice for dealing with sickness and health.
