Air Quality Advisory for Friday the 13th

High ozone levels may be unhealthy for certain groups.

An air-quality health advisory has been put into effect in New York City for Friday, July 13.

Ozone levels are considered to be dangerous for sensitive groups. As such, residents are encouraged to reduce pollution levels. Refrain from unnecessary driving and use public transportation if available, said representatives of Enviroflash.

"Fine particles can be high at any time of year," the organization said in a release. "These pollutants arise from sources such as cars, trucks and power plants, with fine particle levels also enhanced by forest fires and residential burning."
