Source of traffic

Obama's visit disrupt our city. Lets build a duplicate city somewhere else and film his speeches from there.

I like president Obama. He seems like a nice guy. But I dislike the hurricane of traffic and extreme inconvenience he brings with him every day he stops by New York City. I know that he would like to give a speech from the WTC because of the symbolic nature of that particular location. But that means that half of Manhattan will not be allowed to get to work or to go home that day. Last year he stopped by the United Nations for some reason, and the Queensboro bridge said "that's it, I'm outta here" and folded up into a giant walking creature and stormed off to Connecticut. That wasn't very helpful for those of us who need that bridge to commute to and from work every day.

You can't disrupt the city like that, it isn't fair to its residents. Most people get in trouble when they are late for work, or of they don't show up at all. And I think some employers are getting sick of the phrase "don't blame me, blame Obama".

My solution is simple. We recreate various important land marks somewhere outside the city, somewhere much less important like New Jersey, and shoot his speeches from there. No one watching TV will know the difference, New Yorkers certainly wouldn't complain and ruin a good thing. You've seen the way we drive, if there is even an angstrom of extra space, we will pull our car into it just so we can be several inches ahead of the guy next to us. Why would we give up an opportunity like that? The correct answer is: we wouldn't.

Imagine all the construction jobs it would create? We could get investment money from the billionaire mayor himself, who I'm sure sits in traffic just as much as your average New Yorker because he wants to remind everyone that no one gets special treatment (except P. Diddy). And I am sure our benevolent president could appreciate the disruption his presence causes, so he would be ok with the plan as well.

Agreed? Agreed.
