Wednesday: Storytime at Barnes & Noble, Reptile Talk at APEC

And the Central Queens Y will close for several days - beginning tonight - for Sukkot.

Forest Hills' Barnes & Noble will offer its children's storytime event today at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will be able to listen to an age-appropriate story and take part in other activities.

Barnes & Noble is located at 70-00 Austin St.

The Queens County Bird Club will hold a discussion of reptile ecology at Douglaston’s Alley Pond Environmental Center, located at 228-06 Northern Blvd., at 8 p.m.

The event will cover declining reptile and amphibian populations as ecological issues affecting habitats, migration and nesting behavior as well as predation, genetics and diseases.

Also, the Central Queens Y will be closed starting at 6 p.m. for Sukkot and will not reopen until Sunday at 8 a.m.
