Wednesday: Katz at 112th Council Meeting, Composting at Botanical Garden

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz will speak during the 112th Precinct Community Council's monthly meeting, which will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at the precinct, located at 68-40 Austin St. in Forest Hills.

The Queens Botanical Garden, located at 43-20 Main St., will host its compost project from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Attendees will learn about earthworms, how to set up a worm bin and methods of effectively maintaining the system. The entrance fee is $5. To register, call 718-539-5296.

Forest Hills' Barnes & Noble, located at 70-00 Austin St., will hold its children's story time program at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will be able to listen to an age appropriate story and take part in other activities.
