Wednesday: Composting at Queens County Farm, Barnes & Noble's Story Time

And Forest Hills High School seniors will be able to meet with representatives from the University of California - San Diego.

The Queens Botanical Garden will host a composting project at the Queens County Farm Museum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a $5 fee per person. Attendees will learn how to compost using kitchen scraps, weeds and garden trimmings. Registration is required. To sign up, call 718-539-5296.

Forest Hills' Barnes & Noble, located at 70-00 Austin St., will offer its weekly children's story time event at 10:30 a.m. It will include an age-appropriate story and other activities.

Forest Hills High School juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from the University of California - San Diego today at 1 p.m. in the school’s college office in room 218.

And Queens Restaurant Week runs this week through Thursday, giving borough residents the opportunity to eat prix fixe meals at more than 40 borough eateries, including a number of sites in Forest Hills, such as The Family Restaurant and Jade Eatery and Lounge.
