History in Queens: Mets' Santana Pitches No-Hitter

It's finally happened!

Mets starting pitcher Johan Santana tossed a no-hitter at Citi Field on Friday night against the St. Louis Cardinals.

It was the team's first no-hitter since they began playing in Queens in 1962.

According to Mets.com, Santana set a personal record for number of pitches thrown in a game with 134. Of that total, 77 were for strikes.

The 33-year-old Santana has a 3-2 record on the season in 10 games this year after missing all of last season rehabing from shoulder surgery.

Santana, who has been with the club since 2008, said during the post-game press conference that his last pitch was a changeup.
